SEA TURTLE CONSERVATION MEXICO

Expedition Summary

Embark on a sea turtle conservation expedition to Nayarit on Mexico's Pacific coast, where you'll actively contribute to protecting Olive Ridley sea turtles. Engage in nightly beach patrols to record data on nesting turtles and relocate nests to a secure hatchery, safeguarding eggs from threats like poachers and domestic dogs. During the day, activities include caring for hatchlings and nests, releasing hatchlings, helping with hatchery maintenance, beach cleanups, and learning about sea turtles and local conservation initiatives. There will also be time to enjoy the beach and immerse yourself in the local culture.

“I was worried about the vegetarian menu, I thought it would be salad every day and that I would need to sneak off for other meals. But this food is amazing! I don’t even notice there is no meat. Surely this can’t be vegetarian!”

Eniko, Florida

“Everything was amazing from the locals, turtle experts, fellow conservationists, and most importantly, Our Eco Planet expedition leaders. You guys made it a wonderful experience.”
